Using a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) model, St. Vrain Schools will provide academic excellence by design for all students requiring varying levels of instructional intensity and supports. Goals of the leadership team: 1. To update the district RtI/MTSS implementation plan/handbook and to monitor implementation of the district plan 2.   This is where differentiated instruction and assessment comes in. Teachers need to create a variety of entry points to ensure that student differing abilities, strengths, and needs are all taken into consideration. Students then need varying opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge based on the teaching, hence differentiated assessment.

data-based problem solving, differentiated instruction, Differentiation by Student Disability, effective teaching, Endrew's FAPE Decision, FAPE, multi-tiered services, Positive Academic Support and Services (PASS) model, remediation, teacher training, Tier II and Tier III Interventions, Accommondations, Curricular Modifications, Assistive Supports. The Problem: The state (like many states) had actually codified the U.S. Department of Education’s faulty MTSS and PBIS frameworks into their state education law/statutes and the grant RFP appeared to require unsound practices that anyone with psychometric, implementation science, and systems scale-up knowledge and experience would know would not work, and would either delay services to.

Language: The district initiative for this year is to focus on a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (M TSS). Over the last two years, staff has received training in CITW strategies, which support s and provides best practice instructional strategies for the core instruction of our MTSS model. • A Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is a term used to describe an. evidence-based model. of schooling that uses. data-based problem-solving. to. integrate academic and behavioral instruction and intervention. • The integrated instruction and intervention is delivered to students. in varying intensities (multiple tiers) based on.
